What We Believe
Every person is a beloved child of God
Who is created in God's divine image with value and dignity and can be restored by grace through faith into the likeness of Christ. The Church is the instrument of God's presence. We welcome and recognize all people as God's sons and daughters. Through community, exploring God's word, and sharing sacraments we become disciples of Christ.
Scripture
Scripture is the foundation of what we believe. We believe that the Bible was inspired by God and the meaning of scripture is revealed to us through reason, experience, and tradition.
Trinity
We believe in the God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is revealed in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He created the world and works to it through a loving covenant with his children. Jesus was the Son of God sent to give us eternal life. We believe in Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. We believe that the Holy Spirit is God's presence in our life. The Holy Spirit is how we hear God's calling in our life.
The Church
The Church is the Body of Christ. We believe that the church is an extension of Christ. We are his hands and feet and called to continue his ministries for the world today. We welcome the Grace of God in our lives to prepare us, redeem us, and shape us into the disciples we are called to be. We believe in inclusiveness. Everyone is welcome to participate in the life and work of the church.
Sacraments
Baptism and Communion are the two sacraments that we recognize. Baptism marks the beginning of our lifelong journey of becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. Communion sustains that relationship. We believe in an open table and offer Christ's continued covenant through communion to anyone who wishes to receive.
